Play Area - Thanks to the efforts of the Fermoy Town Council and the voluntary groups, children in Fermoy have access to a modern playground
Clancy Street Playground
A new playground has been erected at Clancy Street, Fermoy. This innovative concept resulted in public voluntary partnership which included Cork Road Residents Association, Blackwater Resource Development with Fermoy Town Council being the principal players behind the exercise. Funding for this project was secured with the Local authority obtaining part funding through the Urban and Village Renewal Scheme as well as funding from its own resources. This funding was capped by €10,000 allocation by Leader funding through Blackwater Resource Development plus a voluntary contribution from the Residents Association totalling in excess of €20,000. This unique playground opened in December 2003. This is a superb area for all ages, with great playground equipment, seating and a green area.
