Sewerage Treatment Plant: The sewerage treatment plant operates from Courthouse Road, Fermoy with ancillary pumping station at Rathealy road, Fermoy. This treatment facility again serves the people of Fermoy Town and its environs.
Extension to sewerage works has recently commenced which will greatly increase the capacity which is already provided.
"Proposals to upgrade the Waste water Treatment Plant are underway. The combined sewer network capacity is low in parts of the town and separation of storm and foul water is required." The upgraded facility will have the capacity to serve a population equivalent to 20,000.
